Gospel legend Danny Nettey passes on Renowned Ghanaian gospel artiste, Danny Nettey has
died. His manager, Pastor Joseph Gyebi confirmed
the news of his passing to citifmonline.com.
According to reports, Nettey was found unconscious
in the early hours of Friday moring in his home
and declared dead at 3am.
He begun his music career with his own group,
‘Danny Nettey and Pals’, which focused on
ministry in Secondary Schools and churches.
Nettey released his debut album, ‘Positive
Change’, in 1995 which ushered in a
conntemporary style of music endeared him to many
young people back then.
The following year, he released his second album,
Pals.
He followed that album with two more, ‘This
Time’ and ‘I believe’.
Over the course of his music career, Nettey
ministered alongside the likes of Bishop T. D.
Jakes, Don Moen, Bebe Winans, Ron Kenoly, Kirk
Franklin, Israel Houghton, and Alvin Slaughter
He was also known to mentor mainstream gospel
artistes in Ghana like Koe Beecham and Nii Okai.
Danny Nettey was recently honoured for his
contribution to the gospel music industry at a
ceremony in May at the National Theatre.
