Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, head of all the cheifs in the Ashanti Kingdom, has been notified about the incident Rituals to uncover burglars of Antoa’s ‘black stool’ begin Caretakers of the revered Antoa river deity have
begun rituals to search for thieves who plundered
a sacred ‘black stool’ from the
chief’s palace.
The ‘black stool’, which is believed
to be the chief of Antoa’s source of
authority and power, has been missing for the past
two weeks from the chief’s palace.
Antoa is located in the Ashanti Region and is home
to the dreaded ‘Antoa Nyama’ shrine.
Earlier, there were reports that gold trinkets and
other valuable items were stolen from the shrine
of the ‘Antoa Nyama’ river deity.
However, Chief Priest and Caretaker of
‘Antoa Nyama’, Nana Asiamah, says
nothing has been stolen from the shrine.
He claims the only stolen item is the ‘black
stool’ that was locked away in a secret
room at the chief’s palace.
According to Nana Asiamah, “Antoa
Nyama’s†power is in the river, not
in gold trinkets and ornaments – daring
anyone to come and steal the river if they can.
Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, head of all the
cheifs in the Ashanti Kingdom, has been notified
about the incident, Nana Asiamah told Luv
FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor.
Nana Asiamah said although they were awaiting word
from the Ashanti King on what to do, a process has
begun to uncover the thieves.
He has promised to fish out the thieves who broke
into the chief’s palace.
Meanwhile, Police say they have begun
investigations into the incident. DSP Adu Boahen
told Luv News they have a duty to look into the
matter.
