Grammy winner Earl Klugh to headline Stanbic Jazz Festival this February Grammy Award winning guitar virtuoso, Earl Klugh,
will be performing live in Ghana for the first
time at the 2015 Stanbic Jazz Festival in Accra.
The show which comes off at the Accra
International Conference Center on February 19 and
20 will also feature local act Arka Blay together
with other talented local jazz artistes.
Klugh has worked with musicians like Aretha
Franklin, Jamie Foxx, Roberta Flack, Mary J. Blige
and many others.
Speaking to Starr News’s Ibrahim Alhassan on the
sidelines of a media briefing to announce plans
ahead of the event, Head of Marketing and
Communications at Stanbic Bank, Mawuko Afadzinu
said this event is part of the Bank’s resolve to
develop the local music industry.
“It is part of our plan to nurture and promotes
the development of the virtual and performing arts
in our country, encouraging engagement and social
interaction.
“We want to contribute in positive ways to
develop and grow the music industry thereby
providing employment, training and skills
development in all the related fields of technical
production including sound engineering and
lighting, marketing and PR, event management and
hospitality” he stated.
But Mr. Mawuko said he hopes the two day event
will generate new levels of interest and support
for jazz and encourage lovers of the genre to
preserve and promote the music through knowledge
transfer and the opportunity to foster
