Otumfuo Osei Tutu II (left) and Prez J D Mahama Manhyia guards sacked over ‘Yentie Obiaa’ video Some security guards at the Manhyia Palace, the
seat of the Royal Asante Kingdom in the Ashanti
region, have been sacked over the leaked video in
which President Mahama is seen dancing with the
Asantehene.
According to a report by The Chronicle Newspaper,
several security personnel, who were hitherto
close to the powerful Asante King, Otumfuo Osei
Tutu II, have been removed and replaced with new
faces at the palace.
According to the report, the royal seat is baffled
as to why and how the video was recorded in the
first place during a party which was supposed to
be strictly by invitation and attended by only
highly respected political functionaries and
traditional rulers.
The video which was first published by
Starrfmonline.com had the Asantehene and President
Mahama dancing heartily to the popular ‘Yentie
Obiaa’ song, composed by popular highlife
artiste, Daddy Lumba.
The Newspaper report added that though the Royal
Palace is least perturbed by the video, it is not
enthused about the apparent breach of security,
hence the decision to change the security
personnel.
