GMA’s Rosemond Aryeetey nominated for an award
The Head of Corporate Communications for Global
Media Alliance, Mrs. Rosemond Aryeetey has been
selected as a finalist for the prestigious 2013
Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and
Government awards.

The awards are being organized by CEO
Communications, a South African-based media
organization that has been recognizing and
celebrating the role women play in the development
of their organizations and society for the past 12
years.

The awards are held annually to recognize
inspirational and influential women in different
field of endeavour in business and Government.

Mrs. Aryeetey was first nominated as one of
selected Ghanaian women for the awards. She has
progressed to being selected as a finalist. Other
Ghanaian women nominated include Nana Konadu
Agyeman Rawlings, former first lady of the
Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Adwoa Kwateng-Kluvitse,
Country Director of ActionAid Ghana, Professor
Anna Lartey, Associate Professor at the University
of Ghana, Mrs. Cecilia Adwoa Kwofie, Managing
Director of Domod Aluminium Limited, Mrs.
Elizabeth Quarcor Akpalu, Executive Director of
Advocates for Gender Equity, Ghana, Hon. Esi
Sutherland-Addy, a Senior Research fellow at the
University of Ghana, Ms. Esther Gatuma, a
humanitarian, Mrs. Felicia Sagoe Gbesemete, a
veteran lawyer, Mrs. Sheila Minkah-Premo, Apex Law
Consultant and Gender Activist, Ms. Rose Bio
Atinga, Director of Administration at the Police
Headquarters, Mrs. Kate Quartey, CEO of Reroy
Cables Limited, Mrs. Lucia Quachey, CEO of Ghana
Association of Women Entrepreneurs (GAWE).

As the Head of Corporate Communications, Rosemond
Aryeetey oversees brand visibility for all of
GMA’s brands i.e. e.tv Ghana, Silverbird, YFM
(Accra &Takoradi), Happy FM and Anigye FM. Prior
to this role, she was the Head of Public Relations
(PR) for GMA. During her tenure as Head of PR,
Global Media Alliance (GMA) was adjudged the PR
Consultancy of the year 2012 by the Institute of
Public Relations, Ghana. She has garnered 10 years
of experience in managing PR portfolios for
reputable national and international brands. She
was the lead PR account manager, providing PR
advisory services covering corporate reputation
management, media relations and media monitoring,
stakeholder engagement and social media
engagement.

With a Masters’ Degree in Communication Studies
from the University of Ghana, her scope of
expertise spans from the PR spectrum. Prior to
joining GMA, She was the Managing Consultant at
Yankah and Associates, a marketing communications
consultancy and concurrently the Head of the
Marketing team at Crestcom, a franchise business
entity of Yankah and Associates.

As a Managing Consultant of Yankah and Associates,
she was part of a project team that managed a
number of campaigns, including the nationwide
campaign against the proliferation of Small Arms
and Light Weapons funded by the United Nations
Development Program, a campaign against irregular
migration spearheaded by the International
Organization for Migration etc. She also led a
team to organize the maiden visit of Dr. Mo
Ibrahim to Ghana. As Head of the Marketing team at
Crestcom, she led the team to introduce the
world-acclaimed Bullet Proof Manager Management
and Leadership Development Program into the
Ghanaian marketplace and signed on UT Bank, Zenith
Bank, Coca-Cola, GTP, Procredit, Ghana Water
Company, and other organizations onto the program.
She is also a Lecturer and Head of the Development
Communication Department at the African University
College of Communications (AUCC), and a Committee
Member of the Government & International Relations
Committee of the Institute of Public Relations,
Ghana.

Sharing her excitement on her selection as a
finalist, Mrs. Aryeetey noted that ”I am truly
honoured to be selected for this very prestigious
award. I believe that this recognition is as a
result of my hard work, and the enriching
influence of all people I have worked with
throughout my career so far. I am truly
humbled.’’

CEO Communications has, for the past twelve years,
been publishing organizing South Africa’s Most
Influential women in Business and Government
awards, which has evolved into Africa’s most
influential Women in Business and Government
awards, an awards event hugely recognized as the
pre-eminent recognition platform for women.

The awards event will be held in Ghana in
September. Africa’s Most Influential Women in
Business and Government was launched by CEO
Communications with a view to providing a platform
to celebrate the achievement of women, and pay
tribute to them for consistently making
outstanding accomplishments in their
organizations, and indeed the country.

The awards programme has a stringent credible
judging process and its evolving recognition
methodology ensures that the deserving women win
on their various sectors. The judging panel
comprises an independent group of industry leaders
in order to ensure a fair outcome.
