4x4’s Yese Yese video is Ghana’s most expensive music video till date Investigations conducted by Myjoyonline.com has
revealed that, music trio, 4x4’s latest video,
Yese Yese which was released some weeks ago is
Ghana’s most expensive video till date.
The video, according to sources cost the group
about GHS30,000, the highest investment into a
music video by an artiste or group in Ghana till
date.
While the group and their management remain
tight-lipped on exactly how much they spent on the
video, Captain Planet, leader of the trio told
Myjoyonline.com that it cost them “a lot because
the lights were real and we rented them. It’s
the same light that Vodafone used for the 020 Live
stage and we paid Phamous and rented Nafty Studios
plus some costumes and we paid all the girls in
the video.”
The video was shot in a day – October 17, 2011
– and our source confirmed that what made the
video expensive was the costumes, the background
LED lights and the audience blinders.
Estimates indicate that, the group paid US$1,000
each for three Super shades, an extra US$800 on a
second shade Captain Planet used in the video.
Fifteen models used in the video - including a
Chinese and an American - were paid US$200 each.
The studded shoes, according to our source, also
cost about GHS2,800 while background LED lights
used goes for about GHS15,000 per-day (4x4 might
have got it for about GHS8,000). GHS1,000 was paid
for the audience blinders in the video. Source - MyjoyOnline
