Azonto madness to rock ‘Decemba 2 Rememba’
Accra is warming up for the much-talked-about
‘Decemba 2 Rememba’ (D2R) concert as
organisers have promised to line up on stage a
staggering list of show-stopping, hit-racking
performances at the Accra International Conference
Centre on December 24.

As party-goers and Christmas revelers within the
capital city and beyond brace themselves for an
unforgettable climax to the year 2011, it is
evident that preparations towards the nation’s
‘official Christmas party’ have already
shifted into fifth gear.

As each day brings the country’s most
anticipated end-of-year event closer, organisers
of the Decemba 2 Rememba Concert, Citi 97.3 FM,
continue to give out titillating sneak-peeks into
the event.

Inquiries into on-going rehearsals and planning
sessions toward the event have revealed that DJ
Armani will be displaying his skills full throttle
with a hip-rattling and limb-swinging ‘Azonto’
splash during a specialised D2R preconcert club
session.

It goes without saying that in the world of
entertainment, 2011 will go down in history as
‘the year of Azonto’.

The package for the 2011 edition of D2R includes a
specialised innovation dubbed ‘the D2R Azonto
rave. ’

Attendees of D2R 2011 are thus being advised to
put on their Azonto dancing shoes and prepare to
do the dance themselves while witnessing all the
various forms and styles of the famed dance on
display.

However, these are not the only mouthwatering
surprises that the organisers have packaged.
Jessica Opare Saforo, Programs Manager for Citi
97.3 FM, has intimated that on the exhilarating
night of D2R, another delightful surprise awaits
participants.

Attempts to get her to disclose more details of
this surprise only yielded two clues: (a) that the
surprise is very funny and (b) that the surprise
will come from Nigeria.

The ever expanding hit parade for the event
continues to get more exciting with the addition
of Raquel, singer of the hit track, ‘Sweetie’
to a sizzling list of hit-makers and club-bangers
which comprises 2011 Hip-hop, Hip-life, Afro-pop
and R n B hotshots- 4×4, R2Bees, EL, Castro,
Tiffany, Five-Five, Ketse, Chemphe, R2Bees, Asaase
aban, Yaw Siki and Joey B, Akoo Nana, Cash Unit
and Eduwoji.

Tickets for the event are going for an amazingly
affordable GH¢39 at the front desk of Citi FM,
Airtel offices- Osu and the Silverbird Lifestyle
store (Accra Mall).

Other ticket outlets will be announced in due
course. As has always been the tradition, the
dress-code for the show is white top and jeans.

Without an iota of doubt, on December 24, all
roads will lead to the Accra International
Conference Centre.

Go grab your ticket and experience for yourself a
‘Decemba 2 Rememba’ to remember.
