Kofi Adu popularly known as Agya Koo

Agya Koo assaults movie dealer
Ghana’s celebrated movie star, Kofi Adu
popularly known as Agya Koo has been accused of
assaulting a Digital Video Disc (DVD) dealer at
Bantama in Kumasi for selling near his (Agya Koo)
shop.

The movie dealer, Baba Seidu told The Weekend
Moment the ‘container’, he uses as shop under
the storey building where Agya Koo sells was sold
to him by a friend, who used to sell DVDs at the
same place but travelled to seek for greener
pastures abroad.

According to Baba, he went to see the manager of
the storey building where Agya Koo’s shop is
located, who convinced him to buy the
‘container’ since the man selling the
‘container’ is the son of the landlord.

Narrating his ordeal, Baba said he was at his shop
some weeks back when the actor came with some
macho men threatening him to vacate the place
since he also sells DVD and CDs where Baba’s
container is located.

Baba said, “So I asked him to discuss it with
the landlord. Again, last week I was at the shop
when he came to warn me that he has told me to
vacate the place, so I wanted to show him
documents that permit me sell here”.

He continued, “as I was about to enter the
‘container’ to bring the documents, he held my
shirt and pulled me back saying who am I to talk
back, when he is talking. Just then he pushed me
so hard, had it not been the container I could
have fallen and only God knows what might have
happened. He kicked my abdomen, which had swollen
so much I could hardly do anything. I was scared
as he was assaulting me because he was there with
his macho bodyguards.”

Baba said he decided to inform the manager of the
shops about Agya Koo’s actions though he was
suffering from abdominal pains but on reaching the
office Agya Koo had already gone there so on
seeing him, his bodyguards started assaulting
him.

“He threatened that if I joke with him, he will
sell me and family into slavery. The manager was
around and saw all that was gong on, so he asked
Agya Koo to see the landlord. He told the manager
to shut up describing the manager’s feet as
dirty since he walks from one place to the other
and has never travelled abroad before”. He
added.

Baba said the matter has been reported toe the
Sofoline police, who gave him medical forms to
send to hospital.

When contacted Agya Koo said he does not know any
Baba Seidu and moreover, he was at the airport.
