Former Miss Ghana takes over Miss Ghana Pageant
Ghana has joined the list of countries that have
past beauty queens owning or organizing some of
their most cherished beauty contests, as Miss
Ghana 2004, Maryam Inna Patty takes over the
management and organization of the Miss Ghana
Beauty Pageant from Media Whiz Kids.

The announcement was made formally at a press
conference at the Golden Tuliip Hotel in Accra,
Monday morning.

Maryam Inna Patty, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana,
the new organizers of the pageant commented that
it was a dream come true for her and she is
honoured for the unique opportunity to contribute
her company’s ideas and experiences to the
prestigious Miss Ghana brand.

Without giving away too much on the changes and
format that the new Miss Ghana would assume in
2012, Inna said Ghanaians should look out for
something fresh, glamorous and Ghanaian; assuring
that the winner will be for Ghana, and chosen by
Ghana.

She also addressed among other things, the issue
about sponsorship which according to previous
media reports was responsible for the cancellation
of the 2011 edition of Miss Ghana.

“To all stakeholders of this national pageant,
especially our past and future sponsors, we urge
you to join in this mutually beneficial
partnership.

"To all Ghanaians, we would ask that you encourage
your beautiful daughters, sisters, friends,
granddaughters to participate, for without your
support we cannot find that exceptionally
beautiful lady with a purpose. ”

Reginald Laryea, Chairman of Media Wiz Kid also
assured the press of his confidence in the
capabilities of Inna and her team of young minds
at Exclusive Events Ghana. He added that he
believes the new team will bring in the youthful
ideas needed to revive and sustain the cherished
Ghanaian beauty pageant.

He also explained that Media Wizkid had sold the
franchise completely to Exclusive Events Ghana and
that it wasn’t a lease like it did with Sparrow
Productions previously.

Miss Ghana 2012 will be launched in February 2012.
