King Tackie Tawiah II is still the Ga Mantse according his PRO Nii Boi Abbey

The fight will continue…..there Is no new Ga Mantse

Reports of the enstoolment of a new Ga Mantse
under the stool name Nii Tackie Adama Latse II has
been rubbished by Nii Boi Abbey, Public Relations
Officer (PRO) of the “Ga Mantse” Nii Tackie
Tawiah II.

Peace Fm’s Akwesi Agyeman who was present at the
enstoolment ceremony reported the new chief is a
London based business man privately known as
William Tackie.

Some kingmakers within the Ga state introduced the
supposed new chief to elders of the Ga royal
houses at a ceremony at the Ga stool house.

But speaking in an interview with Peace Fm’s
Akwasi Agyeman, the Public Relations Officer (PRO)
of the “Ga Mantse” Nii Tackie Tawiah II, Nii
Boi Abbey said it was not healthy for such
disgraceful acts to befall the Ga state looking at
the nature of the situation now where some people
want to enstool a new Ga Mantse.

According to him (Nii Boi Abbey), some leaders in
the Ga state have taken the law into their own
hands to do whatever they want in spite of its
obvious repercussions.

“The Ga stool is only one,” he stated.

He told Peace FM that the supposed new chief has
his parents “adopted into the Teiko Tsuru We”
and is “nowhere close to the throne.”

He said the enstoolment ceremony is null and
void.

He added that Nii Tettey Ashong V who holds the
key to the stool house was with Nii Tackie Tawiah
so there was no way those people could have access
to the Ga stool.

“When the time comes, Ga's will stand up and
fight for their right,” he said.

Nii Boye Abbey also accused persons within the
ruling government of supervising the sacrilegious
act.

He said the matter has been reported to the
Greater Accra Regional Police command to save the
situation as there has been threats by some people
to disrupt the Homowo celebration.

The enstoolment follows threats by Gbese Mantse
Nii Ayibonte II, that he will enstool a new chief
by August this year.

To him (the Gbese Mantse), there is no Ga Mantse,
rubbishing the existence of Nii Tackie Tawiah II
who has been acclaimed as the Ga Mantse and
recognised as the chairman of the Greater Accra
Regional House of Chiefs.

Nii Ayi Bonte, known in private life as Tommy
Okine and who was until his enstoolment the Chief
Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting
Club, swore before a gathering last week that he
should be destooled if he fails to enstool a new
chief.

Tommy Okine accused the erstwhile Kufuor
administration of imposing Nii Tackie Tawiah on
the Ga People.

He mentioned Former Tourism Minister, Jake
Obetsebi Lamptey, former Greater Accra Regional
Minister IC Quaye and Accra Mayor Adjiri Blankson
as responsible for the problems in the Ga state.

But the P.R.O., Nii Boi Abbey, says the action
flies in the face of rule of law and hinted they
will take legal action against the claimants.
