Kwame Dwumah Mensah aka Dr Prekese, a product of Winneba 'Legon'

Dr Prekese hosts Adomfm's ‘Ofie Kwanso’
Following the departure of Abeiku from Adom FM,
many were those who thought the Tema-based station
would lose listenership in droves.

However the likes of Jerry Justice, Poppa Bills,
Afia Pokua and Adakabre held their own well.

In that regard, the gentleman who was given the
responsibility of handling Abeiku’s show, Dr
Prekese, has acquitted himself quite well.

Kwame Dwumah Mensah aka Dr Prekese started his
radio career at the University of Education,
Winneba, on the campus radio station, after which
he proceeded to Kyzz FM, followed by Goodnews FM
in Takoradi.

Prior to his stint in Takoradi, Prekese had hosted
the ‘Morning Show’ at Kessben FM in Kumasi,
where he carved a niche for himself with his witty
and humorous handling of issues.

It was therefore little wonder that two years ago
he joined the Tema-based Adom FM as the substitute
for Abeiku Santana.

While he warmed the bench, he was given the mantle
to handle ‘Kasa Hare’ following the departure
of Dr Duncan. So it was a case of Dr go Dr come.

Having proven a mark, he was transferred to Kumasi
to handle the ‘Drive’ on Nhyira FM, where he
introduced a novelty that he brought back to Adom
– live worship on ‘Ofie Kwanso’.

This segment dubbed ‘Live Worship and
Adansidie’ is one of the most popular segments
on the show.

Another novelty on the show is ‘Biribi Wom’
with Efo, where Prekese and Efo take issues and
handle them humorously and sometimes satirically.

Dr Prekese is currently on a three-week vacation
and promises to be back with a bang. In his
absence, Eddie Kay, Kormantie Abrantie will drive
folks home on ‘Ofie Kwanso’.
