“72 hours on the Kwahu ridge”
As Ghanaians prepare for this Easter one question
that seems to be on the lips of every person is
‘Where will you be this Easter holidays’?
Indeed for most Christians Church services will be
the ultimate at some point during the weekend but
the entertainment aspect of the holidays can be as
varied as an individual’s location of residence,
socio-economic class and lifestyle.

For those in the major cities in Ghana options
might include visiting the beach, going for a
movie, attending private parties, e.t.c. For most
Ghanaians, especially those from the Kwahu area,
Easter weekend can be celebrated only in one
place: on the Kwahu Ridge, a mountainous part of
the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Over the years, festivities on the Kwahu Ridge
have become synonymous with Paragliding festival,
durbar of chiefs and array of street jams and bar
shows, football galas e.t.c. This year, Towncriers
Ghana, an Entertainment Solutions, Special events
and Demand Activations company is organizing a
weekend long programme dubbed “72 Hours on Kwahu
Ridge” According to Ferdinand Kwofie, Events and
Business Development Manager of Towncriers, the
event seeks to provide an alternative to the
discerning individual who wants quality
entertainment in a convivial atmosphere.

“72 Hours on Kwahu Ridge” series of events
will be held at the Swimming Pool/Lounge Bar area
of Wags Hotel, Obomeng, kwahu between Friday,
April 22nd and 24th, 2011. Activities includes 2
day long pool parties on Friday and Saturday,
starting at 10.00am featuring DJ Kwame (Killa
Fingaz) and DJ Mensa. D Black’s “Yes Boss”
Tour Premieres on Friday at 8pm with performances
by D Cryme, D Money, Stay Jay, Yaa Pono, Ayigbe
Edem, Efya, Bra Kevin and a special appearance by
the King of High Life himself, Abratie Amakye
Dede.

On Saturday evening, there will be a special VIP
party with Amakye Dede and Obrafour with
appearances by D Black and D Money. Also, there
will be an Old School Jam featuring DJ Killa
Fingers and other musical artistes passing through
on Sunday night to wrap up the weekend. MC’s for
the event will include Papa Sly amongst others.

Tickets will be available in select shops or
through our direct sales vendors in Accra from
Saturday 16th April and also at the gate. Tickets
will range from Gh¢20 to Gh¢30 for regular entry
and Gh¢50 for VIP.

Technical Partners on this project includes

Supermodel Agency for Hostesses, E-vents Security,
