Cecilla Marfo Turns Launching Into Crusade

Gospel musician, Cecilia Marfo, winner of the
“Best Gospel Song of the Year” at the just
ended MTN Ghana Music Awards 2011, seems not to be
perturbed or disappointed for not winning the
ultimate award.

She is rather appreciative of the single award she
carried home.

Cecilia who was tipped by many Ghanaians to win
the topmost award, the “Artiste of the Year”,
was full of praise to God Almighty for how far He
has brought her. This was in an exclusive
interview with Peacefmonline.com.

“What God wants is what He does. If it is your
time for God to bless you no matter what people
say or think about you, He will surely bless you.
What God says and wishes for me is different from
what human beings think. The Bible says, in all
things we should give thanks and praises to God.

So I am very happy that among the numerous gospel
musicians in Ghana my name was mentioned and I
even went ahead to win an award. What is most
important for me is, above all, to be rewarded in
heaven because I believe the real award is in
heaven. Even if I had not won any award, I
wouldn’t have been worried at all," she told
peacefmonline.com.

Asked if she was disappointed for not winning the
ultimate award as thousands of Ghanaians wished
for her, she said everything happens for a reason.
“I was not disappointed at all because we are
human, only God is truthful. For us on earth, we
are just flesh. What God wants is not want human
beings want. It is true that a lot of people
wanted me to win but God knows best. I give all
thanks to the Most High God.

The reason why I do music is to win souls and
change lives so that even if someone wants to
commit suicide, my song can change the person’s
mind. If I die one day and God is rewarding people
I know he will reward me greatly. The Bible says,
in Him is eternal life and joy”.

The “Afunumuba” hit maker said, she is very
glad people have accepted her songs adding that
sometimes what others wish for you might harm you
if you do get it. “God knows best, and He will
never let anything untoward happen to His
Children.

I don’t consider the award I received as coming
from any living being, it is God who has rewarded
me and not man. All Ghanaians who wanted me to win
shouldn’t be worried. I thank all of them for
their prayers and support,” Cecilia said.
