Hon Akua Sena Dansua

Minister for Youth and Sports

Hon. Akua Sena Dansua is a member of four parliamentary committees, Gender and Children, Public Accounts, Business and Local Government and Rural Development.

She holds an Executive Masters Degree in Governance and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a graduate diploma in Communication Studies, University of Ghana, Legon.

Ms. Akua Dansua is a qualified journalist and a product of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). She rose through the ranks as a reporter of the then ‘Weekly Spectator’ to the position of a Deputy Features Editor of the paper until she was called to serve the nation as the District Chief Executive for Kpando during the erstwhile PNDC regime.

 
Hon. Mike Allen Hammah
Minister for Transport

Hon. Mike Allen Hammah was born on 28th August, 1955 at Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana.

Hon. Mike Allen Hammah attended Ghana Secondary Technical School, Takoradi for his Ordinary and Advanced level education between 1969 and 1976.

He proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from 1976 to 1980 to pursue his first degree in Building Technology – (QS option). He continued his education to the post-graduate level at the Central University College (2007-2008), where he passed out with MBA in Finance.

 
Hon. Juliana Jocelyn Azumah-Mensah

Minister for Women and Children's Affairs Designate

Hon. Juliana Jocelyn Azumah-Mensah was born on 15th June, 1950 at Koforidua, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

She had her primary and middle school education at the R.C. Primary and Local Authority Middle Schools, Agotime Kpetoe, in the Volta Region between 1956-1964. She gained admission to Ola Secondary School, Ho, Volta Region from 1964-1969 and obtained the GCE ‘O’ level certificate.

She pursued further studies at the Ipswich East Anglia School of Nursing, Ipswich, Suffolk, UK and qualified in August 1973 as a State Registered General Nurse.

In September, 1974, Hon. Juliana Jocelyn Azumah-Mensah enrolled as a Midwifery student at the St. Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, and Surrey, UK and graduated in August, 1975 as a State Certified Midwife.

 
Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources

Alhaji Collins Dauda was born on 13TH February, 1957 to Mr. Issaka Naaba and Mad. Mariama Issah at Mehame in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda attended Mim Secondary School from 1973 to 1981 where he obtained his General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary and Advanced levels.

Between 1985 and 1986, Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda was a teacher at the Kukuom Agric Secondary School. He later joined Ahafoman Secondary School in 1986 and continued teaching until 1992.

 
Hon. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration

Hon. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni was born on 28th July, 1949.  He had his elementary education at the Kumbungu L/A Primary School (1955-1960) and proceeded to Savelugu L/A Middle school from (1960-1962).  

Hon. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni attended Tamale Secondary School from 1962-1969.  Between 1969-1975, he entered University of Ghana and Ghana Law School for his (LL.B (Hons) and post graduate degree in law (LL.M).  In October 1975, he obtained a BL qualification from the Ghana School of Law.

Hon. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni was elected Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency for two terms (1996-2000; 2000-2004).  While in Parliament, he served on various Parliamentary Select and Standing Committees.  He was a member of the Standing Order Committee, a Ranking Member–Committee on Legal,

 
Dr Kwabena Duffuor

Minister for Finance and Economic Planning

Dr Kwabena Duffuor, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Syracuse, New York, (1979). He also possesses two Masters’ degrees in Finance and Banking, and in Economics.

He was appointed by President John Evans Atta Mills as the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning on February 13, 2009.  Until his appointment, the retired Governor of the Bank of Ghana was the Chairman of Star Assurance Company and Unibank Ghana Limited among others.
Background.

Dr. Duffuor, an economist by profession is a native of Kumawu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He attended Prempeh College where he obtained his Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Certificates in 1962 and 1964 respectively.

Hon. Stephen Amoanor Kwao was born on 12th September, 1951 at Akrusu Saisi in the Upper Manya Krobo of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

 
Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith

Minister for Defence

Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith was born on the 9th of January, 1945 in Takoradi.

He attended Achimota School from 1959 to 1963 and successfully passed out with the West African School Certificate.  He enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy as an Officer Cadet.  He was commissioned 2/Lt on 16th October, 1965 into the Ghana Army Engineer Corps.

After commission, he rose among the ranks and excelled in all appointments and responsibilities entrusted to him.  He retired from the military in February 2009 after 39 years with the colours.

Hon. Hajia Rafatu Halutie A. Dubie was born on 22nd November, 1947 at Kong in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

Minister for Trade & Industry

Hon Hanna Tetteh, a Legal Practitioner by profession, was born on 31st May, 1967 at Szged Hungary.

Hon Hanna Tetteh, who hails from Awutu Senya, attended Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast from 1978 to 1985.  She entered the University of Ghana in 1986 and obtained a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree in 1989.

Between 1989 and 1992 she studied at the Ghana Law School, Accra and obtained a Barrister-at-Law (B.L) degree.

Hon Hanna Tetteh worked as a Legal Officer with the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) (1992-1993) and entered private legal practice with Ansa-Asare & Co. Hencil Chambers, Accra (1993-1994).   She was a Legal Officer with the Commission on Human Rights & Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) (March – August, 1995).

 
Hon. Joe Kwashie Gidisu

Minister for Roads and Highways

Hon. Joe Kwashie Gidisu had his primary education at the Bakpa Alabonu L.A. Primary between 1959 and 1963.  He proceeded to Mafi Devime L.A. Middle (MSLC) between 1964-1967.  Between 1967 and 1971, Hon. Joe Kwashie Gidisu attended Kibi Men’s Training College and obtained Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’.

He enrolled at the Advanced Teacher Training College, Winneba for his Specialist Certificate between 1975-1977.

He did post-graduate studies at the Institute of Social Studies, Hague, Holland, where he obtained M.A. Development Studies.

 
Hon. Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu

Minister for Justice and Attorney General

Hon. Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu was born on 22nd March, 1953 at Accra, Ghana.

She obtained a Bachelors Degree in Law (L.L.B) from the University of Ghana, Legon between 1973 and 1976.

Hon. Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu is an accomplished lawyer and versatile scholar with a graduate degree in law (L.L.M) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, (LSE), University of London in 1978 and a B.L from the Ghana School of Law.She worked at Ghana’s Ministry of Justice from 1978 till 2003 in several capacities, rising to the rank of Chief State Attorney. 

In view of her expertise in Intellectual Property Law, she headed the Administration of Intellectual Property Right

 
Hon. Kwesi Ahwoi

Minister for Food and Agriculture

Hon. Kwesi Ahwoi, a public servant of considerable experience, was born on 17th November, 1946.

His academic credentials include:

1.    Post Graduate Certificate in Planning and Resource Management from University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 1985/6.
2.    Post Graduate Certificate-Budgeting and Financial Management and Post
Graduate Certificate – Planning and Resource Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Accra (1980-1981).
3.    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, Geography and Education from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

 
Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei

Minister for Energy

Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei, the Minister for Energy was born on 3rd May 1958. He is married to Mrs Magaret Oteng-Adjei and blessed with children.

Dr Oteng-Adjei had his first Degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi from 1977 to 1980.

Thereafter, he pursued a course in Power Systems with a Canadian, Commonwealth Scholarship at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada from 1984 to 1987.

 
Hon. Alex Tettey-Enyo

Minister for Education

Hon. Alex Tettey-Enyo, a veteran educationist, was born on 6th June, 1940. He had his primary education at Akuse Methodist Primary (1946-1947) James Town Accra Methodist Primary (1948) and Somanya Methodist Primary/Middle (1949-1953).

Hon. Alex Tettey-Enyo obtained his secondary education at Volta District Secondary School, Odumase Krobo (1954-1955), Presby Secondary, Odumase Krobo (1956-1957) and Wesley College, Kumasi (1959-1960). He attended the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (1961-1962) and the University College of Cape Coast (1963-1965).

He obtained a Teachers Certificate “A” (Post Secondary) in June 1960 and B.A. (General) Education degree from Legon in June 1965. He was employed as a pupil teacher at Yilo State School,

 
Hon Haruna Iddrisu

Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament for Tamale-South, was sworn in as Minister of Communications of the Republic of Ghana in February 2009 after retaining his parliamentary seat in the December 2008 national elections.
